We are seeking for candidates for postdoctoral research fellow position in the field of Nanophotonics & NEMS technology. Main theme of Advanced Photonics Research(APR) Lab focuses on developing a new class of semiconductor-based light sources for next-generation optical and quantum computing. Our research lab has strived to realize the CW germanium laser on silicon and finally, we demonstrated a low-threshold, compact group IV laser by inducing 1.6% strain on germanium nanowire structure [pdf]. In these times, we are looking forward candidates to join us and pave the way for the fully functional photonic-integrated circuits.

We are looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students who will join Advanced Photonics Research(APR) Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Our research lab focuses on developing a new class semiconductor-based light source. Recently, APRL demonstrated a low-threshold, compact group IV laser by inducing 1.6% strain on germanium nanowire structure and published the paper at Nature Comm. [pdf]. We believe that our research results will be a key enabler for fully functional photonic-integrated circuits and it will be able to pave the way towards miniaturization of various technology such as biochemical sensing, light detection and ranging (LiDAR) and chip-level optical communications. Now, we are searching for Ph.D. candidates who will join us and carry out such research together in the field of Nanophotonics & NEMS technology.
